LV: Winter Session

This is a 6 week session that meets on Wednesdays, January 29th - March 4th from 2:15 - 3:45 p.m. 

The winter session is all about love and bears! With Valentine's Day just around the corner, students will learn about the life and artwork of the American Artist, Jim Dine. They will make a pop art heart using acrylic and watercolor paints. The second art project incorportaes children's literature, Bear Snores On by Karma Wilson and Jane Chapman. Aftre reading the book students will create a bear wearing a patterned  winter scarf using a crayon resist method. During the final project of the winter session, students will learn fun facts about polar bears before creaing a painting that utilizes shading and overlapping to make their image look more three dimensional.

Additional Information: Students are encouraged to bring a healthy snack to enjoy during the first 10 minutes of class. Please refrain from packing snacks that contain nuts since there are a couple of students with severe allergies to nuts also attending  these classes. No refunds after October 23rd. Refunds issued will  forfeit a $10 transaction fee. Make-up classes will not be held. If your child misses a class every effort to help them get caught up and complete the project will be made. By registering for these art classes you are granting permission for your child's artwork and possibly your child's photograph to appear on my website and socail media accounts. If you do not want your child's photograph taken/ appearing on my website and socail media to promote the Art Kids program, please send me an email.
