Hello, and welcome to Art Kids! My name is Jennifer Davis and I have been teaching art to elementary students in public schools for over 20 years. I received a B.S. in Art Education from Florida State University, an M.Ed in Integrated Arts through Lesley University, and a Gifted and Talented Education endorsement from Southern Utah University.
I have taught art for the Clark County School District in Las Vegas, Nevada for 16 years and taught for the Department of Defense schools in Tokyo, Japan for 3 years. I have been offering after school art programs for the last 8 years.
I am passionate about teaching art and am heartbroken that our educational system continually marginalizes the arts. The arts are wonderful for teaching and supporting other content areas such as math, science, history, geography as well as teaching about traditions and cultures. The after school art classes and summer camps that I provide incorporate these and other content areas making learning fun!
Art Kids was created to further nurture and develop the creative spirit of those students who are also passionate about art, creating art and to get kids excited about learning!
